Lab X Technologies Licensing MADI IP Core

ROCHESTER, NY — Lab X Technologies is now licensing its MADI (Multichannel Audio Data Interface) IP (Intellectual Property) Core to audio electronics manufacturers. “Our FPGA-based solution enables manufacturers to bypass the cost and availability issues associated with Cypress ‘TAXI’ based designs,” said Eldridge Mount, vice president of Engineering for Lab X. “The first products incorporating this licensed IP will ship in Q4 of 2009.”

Lab X has developed HDL (High Density Logic) solutions for both Xilinx and Altera FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays). Both incorporate the same IP Core used in Lab X’s MADIX Mix Module, which provides MADI (also known as AES-10) connectivity.

Originally developed for recording studios, MADI is also widely used for live and studio broadcast production, live recording and sound reinforcement, and theatrical sound production.
