Juno Awards Crew Member Injured in “Short Fall” from Stage

REGINA, Saskatchewan — A crew member working at the Brandt Centre here was taken by ambulance to Regina’s Pasqua Hospital after suffering unspecified injuries from a fall from the stage early Friday, April 19. The worker was part of the team preparing the venue for the 2013 Juno Awards, which included a gala dinner on April 20 and a televised ceremony with performances April 21. The injured worker was transported to Pasqua Hospital. No further information was available.

The Juno Awards, which honors Canadian recording artists in various cities north of the U.S. border, proceeded as planned. The 2013 live broadcast was hosted by Michael Bublé. Honorees included Carly Rae Jepsen, Justin Bieber, Leonard Cohen, Marianas Trench, Mumford & Sons, Johnny Reid, Serena Ryder, Emilie-Claire Barlow, Joel Miller, Rush, The Weeknd (a.k.a. Abel Tesfaye), Grimes (a.k.a. Claire Boucher), Crystal Shawanda, Monster Truck, Metric and Woods of Ypres, among others.
