“As we welcome our fourth intern to the Music Industry Internship Program, I’m filled with pride at how this initiative is continuing to grow and make a meaningful impact,” said Brandy Alvarado-Miranda, WAVIT’s Founder. “Each placement reinforces the power of intentional mentorship and opportunity, and we’re thrilled to see how these talented young women are stepping into the AV/IT space with confidence and curiosity. This isn’t just an internship—it’s the beginning of a promising career journey, and we’re honored to be a part of it.”
Brender brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously interned with the Erikson division of JAM Industries in Montreal, where she developed marketing strategies and supported promotional campaigns. A trailblazer by nature, Brender made a significant mark during her time at Dawson College, where she earned a degree in Law, Society & Justice. She now enters her final year at McGill University, pursuing a Joint Honours degree in Political Science and Social Justice Studies, while also serving her second term as President of McGill Panhellenic.
“Jenna’s passion, leadership, and advocacy efforts in both education and community spaces make her an exceptional fit for this opportunity,” said Jeff Hawley, Allen & Heath USA / American Music & Sound Director of Marketing. “Her marketing background and experience with JAM in a prior role further sets her up for success as we continue to expand the impact of the AM&S marketing team and the collective JAM capabilities going forward. We’re excited to have her on board!”
“This internship represents the perfect intersection of my passion for music and my commitment to creating empowering spaces for women,” noted Brender. “I’m honored to join AM&S and WAVIT in their mission to shape an inspiring future in the industry.”
Throughout the internship, Brender will work closely with the AM&S marketing team, collaborate across various JAM departments, and engage with key customer accounts. Her responsibilities will include market research, social media strategy development and analysis, as well as event coordination for commercial and trade show initiatives. The program is designed to support professional growth and provide hands-on experience that prepares interns for a dynamic career in the music and AV/IT industries.
