MADISON, TN — Music touring professional Mark Harmon, who served as tour manager, production manager and FOH/monitor engineer for numerous country acts, passed away unexpectedly on September 3, 2018. The longtime Nashville area resident was only 60, yet touched countless lives.
Born on June 15, 1958 in Lebanon, IN, Harmon graduated from Thomas Carr Howe Community High School in Indianapolis and attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.
In 1986, Harmon began his long (and successful) career as an independent sound engineer, doing production/tour management and/or live sound mixing for a long string of well-known clients in country music, including Dierks Bentley, Chase Bryant, Jerrod Niemann, Blake Shelton, Josh Gracin, Joe Nichols — among many others.
Harmon married Joanne Segrest Harmon in 1997 and was a devoted and loving father to his three daughters, Kalahn, Ciara and Paige. Harmon toured all over the world with the country music industry, holding tight to the many friends he made throughout the journey. At this time, any love and help that could be passed forward would help ease the sorrow. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, money donated towards the funeral and time of healing would be appreciated.
Friends and associates joined together for a celebration of life for Mark Harmon, held at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Grand Ole Opry’s Studio A in Nashville.
