COFFS HARBOUR, Australia — KV2 Audio reported the passing of KV2 sales director David Croxton. Croxton’s unexpected and sudden death was the result of a fatal accident Sept. 13. He was 59.
Born August 9, 1961, Croxton studied media arts at Australia’s Southern Cross University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2008. He joined the family of European professional sound reinforcement speaker manufacturer KV2 Audio in 2011, to fulfill a new sales director role within the Asia Pacific region.
Initially as a curious non-believer of the technologies and theories of the company’s founder and developer, George Krampera Sr., Croxton soon discovered through deep thought, questioning and actual operating of systems that he could not only understand and accept what was being proposed, but provide essential and additional insights with his quiet, considered approach, linked to a deep well of knowledge and advice, usually delivered with his inimitable dry wit. Once onboard, Croxton quickly became the fiercest proponent of the company’s outlook and presentation and his determination, energy and efforts became a part of the company’s worldwide success.
Having worked in the audio industry throughout his career, Croxton’s knowledge of touring systems and recording studio production, coupled with his experience of having run a successful distribution business in his Australian homeland, provided unparalleled access to unique insights and knowledge to those involved with him throughout his work — insights and knowledge that will now be greatly missed.
His passing has left behind a huge hole in everybody’s hearts, especially his family and many friends that had the privilege of being his friend and colleague.
Croxton is survived by his wife and three children. At press time, no word on a memorial service had been announced.
