Budd Johnson (1942-2011), a prominent figure in home audio recording in the late 1960s to early 1970s, passed away earlier this year. NAMM reports that Johnson was a key member of the TEAC team that oversaw the development of the American branch of the company known as TASCAM, where Johnson served as sales manager.
