NASHVILLE — Brad “Porque” Baker, 58, longtime sound man at The End in Nashville, died Aug. 31 due to complications from sleep apnea. Prior to running audio at The End, he had been a touring crew member for a long list of bands including Chicago, REO Speedwagon, Cheap Trick, Loverboy and Prince. Remembered for his booming voice, gruff exterior and, for the thousands who got to know him better, his softer side and generosity of spirit, Baker was a musician and songwriter himself, and is credited with his contribution to some songs preserved on rock albums, including Great White’s “Wasted Rock Ranger.”
