With an extremely heavy heart, I note the passing of my friend and colleague, Andrew J. Sottile. On February 13, 2019 at his home in State College, PA, Andy succumbed to the cancer that he had been bravely battling. He was 67.
Employed by Clair Global of Lititz, PA since 1985, Andy “AJ” Sottile always displayed the consummate road personality. He was a very humble and private man who performed his job with immense expertise and professionalism. His legendary equanimity and vast repository of audio knowledge made him the perfect audio crew chief. His profound love of music and absolute dedication to his profession made him an ideal systems engineer.
He was loved by all who knew him and respected for his work throughout the live music industry. He was, in short, a roadie’s roadie — an example of constructive behavior and positive demeanor for all who worked with him. Andy and I had shared a path since 2000. Our accomplishments were many and are remembered with great pride.
Andy is survived by his wife, Marianne. The couple had no children. Plans for a memorial service will be announced shortly.
Funeral services are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College, PA, www.kochfuneralhome.com.
