IC Live Helps Slide Bar Go with the Flow

FULLERTON, CA, – The Slide Bar, opened by Jeremy Popoff, guitarist for alt-rockers Lit, was able to use Renkus-Heinz's new IC Live digitally steerable line array loudspeaker systems to minimize the need for acoustic treatments.
The casual rock-n-roll café, a low-key local venue run by Orange County natives, had recently been renovated to create separate indoor and outdoor lounges. It also had the distinction of being one of the first installations of Renkus-Heinz's new IC Live digitally steerable line array loudspeaker systems.

The indoor lounge is configured with dual IC Live systems, each with a pair of ICL215S dual 15-inch subwoofers topped with two double ICL-R columns. As Popoff noted, the new system has been a major step in addressing the room's challenges.

"It's a good sized room, and it's pretty live sounding," he said. "We wanted to take a few days to do some acoustic treatment to the walls, but it's been pretty busy and we haven't had much in the way of down time. The IC Live system has a really tight focus, and it keeps a lot of the sound off the walls, which makes a huge difference. Now we're only looking at some minor acoustic treatment, which makes our lives a whole lot easier."

As Popoff observed, the Slide Bar is busy nearly every night, with DJs spinning tunes and live sets from local and national bands, including recent shows by The Blasters, Lee Rocker, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Reverend Horton Heat and of course, Lit.

The club's regular guests are used to seeing other guests like Green Day's Tre Cool tending the bar and celebrities like Shaquille O'Neal and members of Guns N' Roses, Sevendust and the Offspring mingling with the crowd.

"We've always got something going on, whether it's a live show or a lineup of the best DJs in town," said Popoff. "It's great to finally have the room sounding the way we want it to."
