LOS ANGELES — At the 23rd annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards, Hollywood Bowl and the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival were named, respectively, “Best Major Outdoor Concert Venue” and “Major Music Festival of the Year (non-touring).”
Paul Freudenberg, L-Acoustics business development manager — Americas noted that the venues have won eight times in 10 years. “We at L-Acoustics are honored to have been a part of their successes,” he said, noting that Hollywood Bowl won its first award shortly after installing a new L-Acoustics sound system in 2005, and that Rat Sound Systems has been supplying L-Acoustics gear to Coachella.
Other venues and festivals honored by Pollstar this year include Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater (Austin, TX), equipped with Meyer Sound gear; the Greek Theater (Los Angeles); Madison Square Garden (New York); Ryman Auditorium (Nashville); Bowery Ballroom (New York); The Hangout Music and Beach Festival (Gulf Shores, AL); Glastonbury Festival (U.K.); and London’s O2 Arena.
