HINTON, WV – The Ritz Theatre, which first opened as an opera house in 1929, reopened last fall after an renovation that included a new performance art stage, upgraded screen, central heating and air conditioning and a new sound system featuring Community Professional Loudspeakers.
The new system features a pair of Community SLS920 loudspeakers covering the main seating area, with the low frequency component provided by an SBS45 subwoofer in front of the stage. Two Community iBOX Series i2W8 loudspeakers provide front fill coverage.

"The sound pressure levels we can achieve with the Solutions-Series are absolutely incredible," said Charles Hatcher of Lewisburg, W.V.-based Alpha Music. "The voicing of the drivers provides seamless coverage throughout the entire venue."

Hatcher's team worked alongside construction crews as the venue underwent structural reinforcement and remodeling to create public access to the balcony and mezzanine areas.

"We've used the Solutions Series loudspeakers on previous projects, and we were confident that they would fit the bill here," says Hatcher. "When the new owners first heard the new system, they were grinning from ear to ear."

Since reopening, the Ritz has hosted live entertainment and movies, and has also been parties, conferences and other events.
