LAS VEGAS – There are currently nine open slots for FRONT of HOUSE Showtime Submissions left for calendar year 2019 – three for the November issue, and six for December, so if you’ve been thinking of giving yourself (and co-workers) a nice pat on the back for a job well done, now’s the time to send in a photo along with a list of crew members and gear.
As regular FRONT of HOUSE readers know, we publish six of these mini-features 11 months out of the year, profiling all kinds of events, from huge touring productions to not-so-huge events. And you never know what kind of gigs you’ll see there. Case in point – the NYC Global Climate Strike Rally (FOH, Oct. 2019, page 26), with a photo of young activist Greta Thunberg stepping up to the microphone.
After December, the regular reader-submitted Showtime feature takes a month off so we can present our annual Top 10 Tours Showtime feature (with 10 crew and gear lists, not just six) in the Jan. 2020 issue. Then the Showtime feature will resume in its regular format, driven, as always, by reader submissions, from Feb. through Dec. 2020.
So don’t fall back on the excuse that your 24-by-7 schedule just doesn’t give you time to participate. We’d like to note that there’s that 25th hour coming up for most people in the U.S. on Nov. 3, as Daylight Savings Time ends for 2019. But you don’t have to wait for the two hours between 2 and 3 a.m. on Nov. 3. Submit your Showtime item today!
