SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The Event Safety Alliance announced that it has been officially granted 501(c)(6) status by the Internal Revenue Service. This designation establishes the ESA as tax-exempt entity, and marks a milestone in establishing the Event Safety Alliance as the preeminent event safety organization in the U.S.
More details from the Event Safety Alliance (www.eventsafetyalliance.org):
“We’re excited to have obtained 501(c)(6) status as it completes the creation and legalities for the Event Safety Alliance,” remarked Treasurer and Board Member Harold Hansen. “This designation will allow us to focus our efforts on publishing the Event Safety Guide and to explore new avenues for serving the industry and the public.”
501(c)(6) status is assigned to nonprofit organizations engaged in activities that promote a common business interest, such as trade and professional associations. To achieve this designation, applicants must effectively demonstrate that their activities will advance the interests of the industry they serve, and that any net income will be reinvested in the purposes of the organization.
