PARK CITY, UT – DWV Entertainment, a new umbrella company formed by David Wiener and Robin Sibucao that also owns consumer brand DW Collection, has recently acquired Sun Valley, Calif.-based Aphex Systems, Ltd.
Founded in 1975 by Marvin Caesar and Curt Knoppel, Aphex Systems offers more than two dozen devices including the Aural Exciter; Big Bottom; Compellor; Dominator; Expander/Gate and Expressor to microphone preamps, signal processing equipment, hubs, rack systems and musical instrument pedals.
Aphex products are used for recording, broadcast and live productions, including Everyday Rapture, Come Fly Away, and Promises, Promises on Broadway. Artist endorsers range from Alan Parsons to Everett Harp to Reggie Hamilton. DW Collection has incorporated Aphex technology into several of its products.
"From our Aphex motto of ‘Making Your World Sound Better' to DW Collection's motto of ‘Respect The Music,' it's pretty clear our companies have complementary goals," said David Wiener, DWV Entertainment president and CEO. "We plan to expand our Aphex offerings with products and licensable technologies," Wiener added.
"The pursuit of delivering better sound is alive and thriving at Aphex," said Robin Sibucao, DWV Entertainment COO. "We intend to unleash an amazing awareness campaign and reach out to every music lover worldwide."
Wiener and Sibucao plan to create a third company under the DWV Entertainment umbrella, as yet unnamed, aimed at a more value-priced market segment.
