TOPANGA, CA – The Topanga Days Festival 2025 was held over Memorial Day weekend (May 24-26) at the Topanga Community House, marking its 50th anniversary as a core cultural event in the canyon.
The Topanga Days Festival has its roots in the early 1970s, originally conceived as a fundraiser for the Topanga Community House, a nonprofit serving the eclectic and artistic Topanga Canyon community. What began as a small neighborhood gathering has grown into one of Southern California’s most beloved local festivals. Over the decades, it has remained true to its bohemian spirit, embracing the area’s deep ties to music, art and countercultural values. The festival has hosted both emerging local artists and well-known performers and has evolved to include a wide range of family-friendly activities, sustainable practices, and cultural celebrations that reflect Topanga’s unique identity.
The Corral Stage was a central hub for musical performances throughout the weekend, featuring acts including People of Earth, Old Jitters, My Irish Band, and The John Cannon Band. These performances contributed to the festival’s reputation for showcasing a diverse range of musical talent—and for 2025, they were delivered through a dBTechnologies sound system upgrade.
The Corral Stage was powered by dBTechnologies’ Ingenia IG3T, a 2-way active column speaker system featuring two 10″ neodymium woofers, a 1.4″ / 3” voicecoil compression driver, 900W RMS (1800W peak) Class-D amplification, and a maximum SPL of 132dB. Built-in DSP and digital steering ensured clean, high-quality output in a dynamic festival environment.
Ingenias are designed to work individually but can also be coupled, by placing one on top of the other, which adds digital steering in the vertical plane and increases the SPL. Because of this flexibility with Ingenia Systems, the community house was able to supplement their previously installed IG3Ts with the addition of 2 more elements. “This new addition has dramatically increased the output of the system, improved coverage in the vertical plane, and enhanced the low frequency response.” Commented Colin Studybaker, president of dBTech USA.
Recent upgrades to our AV inventory include an Allen & Heath Qu24 digital mixer and dBTechnologies’ Ingenia IG3T loudspeakers” said Tom Mitchell, AV tech at the Topanga Community Center. “The IG3Ts made a huge difference, they handled everything we threw at them—loud rock, subtle acoustic, and everything in between. The clarity and coverage were solid from front row to the back.”
Topanga Days continues to evolve while keeping its community-driven focus—and this year, the power and fidelity of the Ingenia system resulted in the clearest, most immersive sound the festival has delivered to date.
