FRANKFORT, KY – After trying out seven different line array alternatives, sound engineer Jeff Branham opted for a dB Technologies DVA active line array system. The setup for a recent Delbert McClinton show at the Frankfort Convention Center here included 22 DVA T12 and eight DVA S30N line array elements.

Pikeville, Kentucky-based Branham Productions recently provided a dB Technologies DVA active line array system for a concert featuring Delbert McClinton at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, Kentucky (February 8, 2014).
With his experience as both a recording studio engineer and sound technician, Branham Productions co-owner Jeff Branham provides the eastern Kentucky region a full package of sound solutions. And whether recording or live sound, Branham notes, “bringing the customer’s music to life is our goal. We approach each project with the client’s end result in focus. Our belief is simple, it’s your music and you put your trust in us to capture it.” Whether live sound or in the studio, that’s Branham’s philosophy.
His choice for live sound – dB Technologies DVA active line array system. The system is comprised of DVA T12, a 1400-watt three way active line array cabinet with a 12” low frequency, two 6.5” midrange and three 1” high frequency compression drivers; coupled with the DVA S30N 3,000 watt double 18” subwoofer.
When asked why he choose dB Technologies, Branham said, “We tried out seven different line array solutions, and came to the decision that dB Technologies provided everything we needed – sounded clearer, more efficient, rigged easier and travelled easier,” noting, “The biggest thing was sound quality.”
The other advantage to the dB Technologies system is their RDNet control. RDNet is dB Technologies’ proprietary protocol that makes it possible to monitor and control all the system components and parameters including gain structure, system equalization and delay settings.
For the Delbert McClinton show, Branham utilized 22 DVA T12 and eight DVA S30N in his system.
Branham not only uses the dB Technologies DVA system in his production company gear, but has also installed one in the Renfro Valley Entertainment Center in Mount Vernon, Kentucky. That venue is known as Kentucky’s Country Music Capital.
