TAMPA, FL – Cuban artist Bebeshito’s 22 Caminos Tour visited the 10,500-capacity Yuengling Center on the campus of the University of South Florida on Feb. 15. Limitless Productions provided a DAS Audio system to support the event.
More details from DAS Audio (www.dasaudio.com):
Known for his explosive energy and unique connection with audiences, the Havana-born singer has rapidly risen in the international music scene by fusing Caribbean rhythms with contemporary urban styles. To ensure a high-quality sound experience, event production was entrusted to Limitless Productions, who selected DAS Audio systems to meet the technical demands of the concert.
The main challenge was to adapt a sports arena into an acoustically optimized space for an urban music concert, which presented several obstacles. First, the Yuengling Center was not originally designed to host this type of event, increasing the likelihood of excessive reverberation due to its reflective surfaces and large size. Without a suitable sound system, the clarity and intelligibility of the show’s audio would be at risk.
Another significant challenge was the wide variety of instruments featured in Bebeshito’s band. His concerts include a broad range of musicians and styles—from percussion to brass and strings—making it essential to ensure that every detail was clearly distinguishable. Therefore, a finely tuned system was crucial to avoid loss of definition in the mix and maintain balance across all elements.
Moreover, Bebeshito’s music is characterized by deep bass and low-frequency dominance, which are key to creating a festive and vibrant atmosphere. However, if not properly managed, these low frequencies can overwhelm or distort the higher ones. Controlling their dispersion and preventing them from negatively impacting the rest of the mix was vital to the event’s success.
To address these challenges, Limitless Productions opted for DAS Audio’s LARA systems. This was the perfect choice due to its cardioid technology, preventing sound from contaminating undesired areas or reflecting off walls and ceilings, which could otherwise cause audio cancellation or distortion.
The audio setup was meticulously distributed to ensure uniform coverage throughout the venue. The main PA consisted of 14 LARA systems per side in an L/R configuration, along with 16 LARA-SUBs in front of the stage and 6 ARA-P28 units as frontfills, providing optimal dispersion without compromising clarity in any area of the Yuengling Center.
To cover the lateral areas, 2 outfill line arrays were deployed, each comprising 8 SARA systems, ensuring precise audio delivery to the sections furthest from the main PA.
In addition, side fills were configured with 8 SARA-100 systems and 4 SARA SUBs, optimizing lateral coverage and avoiding audio dead zones in the audience’s experience.
This setup ensured a consistent and powerful sound throughout the entire Yuengling Center, allowing every attendee to enjoy a balanced and high-definition audio experience, regardless of their seat. Onstage, 6 EVENT-M210A monitors were used, enabling the performers to hear themselves with precision and perform at their best.
Thanks to the expertise of Limitless Productions and their use of DAS Audio’s cardioid-enabled LARA system, the Yuengling Center delivered outstanding acoustic results. Crystal-clear audio, tight control of low frequencies, and even sound coverage allowed the entire audience to fully enjoy the show.
