LOS ANGELES — Audio Rents Inc., based here, became the first U.S. company to take delivery of JoeCo‘s BlackBox BBR1MP Recorder. Two systems were delivered in early October and went out the next day to provide a 48-channel recording system with integrated microphone preamps for live recording at the Whisky A Go-Go club in Hollywood, CA. JoeCo’s BBR1MP Recorder is the latest addition to the manufacturer’s award-winning BlackBox family of Recorders and Players. The 24-channel, stand-alone, live audio recorder delivers all the standard BlackBox functionality, while featuring 24 high-quality in-house developed microphone preamps, operating at up to 24bit/96kHz, which are integrated into the recorder’s tiny 1U housing. Designed for both live and location sound recording, the BBR1MP offers a range of connection options, as well as optional user installable MADI and Dante interface cards, which can add 24 channels of MADI or Dante i/o to the unit. Fully controllable via JoeCoRemote for iPad, the new system includes the facility to set up individual mic pre channel parameters and create a monitor mix. It can also create a simultaneous stereo mixdown during recording.
