Audio Products Share the Spotlight at Record-Setting InfoComm 2013

ORLANDO — InfoComm 2013 took place at the Orange County Convention Center here, with 937 exhibitors showing off products and services within 470,000 square feet of exhibition space from June 12-14. This year’s event drew a record-setting 35,126 visitors, up 2.5 percent from 2012.

Along with the exhibition, InfoComm 2013 offered seminars from June 8-14. Attendees came from 110 countries around the world. Here’s a preliminary recap of some of the new products featured at the exhibition. Look for more product news to be added to this posting in the days ahead.

Alcons Audio USA showcased the Dutch manufacturer’s latest Sentinel amplified loudspeaker controllers along with the company’s QR24 line-source column, BC332 compact cardioid sub, and previewed the RR12 constant curvature point-source array module. Also new to the U.S. — the LR16 high-output compact line array module, featured at off-site demos as well. The company’s products were heard at the PlazaLive concert venue and Seňor Frog club/restaurant as well as the booth.

Alcorn McBride featured its A/V Binloop HD, an audio and video player that provides up to 8 channels of Full HD 1080p or 2 channels of UltraHD 4K along with 16 tracks of 16 bit audio. It contains no spinning drives, just removable solid-state media that store hours of HD content. Each channel plays back MPEG2 or h.264 video at bitrates up to 40Mbps and resolutions up to FullHD 1080p (1920 x 1080) as well as 16-bit stereo or surround sound audio. Alcorn McBride also featured its compact VCore controller, for use with up to 10 devices, which packs many of the advance features of the company’s larger V Series controllers in a three-pound package that mounts on a standard 35mm DIN rail.

Allen & Heath featured its Qu-16, a rack-mountable digital mixer offering 16 mono onboard XLR/TRS analog inputs, three stereo inputs, four stereo FX return, four FX engines, moving fader automation, four mute groups, 16 buses and a 800 x 480 color touch screen. A Cat-5 dSNAKE port connects to optional AR2412 or AR84 stage boxes. It’s also iPad controllable via the free Qu-Pad app and compatible with the company’s ME Personal Mixing System for individual monitor mix control. Allen & Heath also introduced the GLD-112, a larger version of the GLD-80 mixer, with an extra bank comprising 8 control strips, increasing the channel count to 28 fader strips in 4 layers. The larger GLD is scene compatible with the existing GLD-80 mixer, and at the heart of both mixers is the same audio core. (The GLD-112 is supported by the latest firmware update, V1.2). The company also unveiled a new generation of MixWizards.

Ashly displayed its nX Class-D amplifiers, which are designed to deliver up to 12,000W while drawing less than 1W in sleep mode. Available with selectable high-Z (70/100V) or low-Z outputs, nX model variants include Ethernet control, onboard Protea DSP with load monitoring and a five-year warranty. Amplifiers include four- or two-channel models at 3,000W or 1,500W per channel (at 2 Ohms). Other features include multiple independent power supplies for increased channel separation and reliability and continuously variable fans.

Audio-Technica introduced its AT-DMM828 Digital Matrix Mixer, the latest SmartMixer family of automatic mixers, touted for its ability to keep the number of open microphones to a minimum and for its ability to analyze and interpret redundancy of source material between channels in real time. The AT-DMM828 can be used with low-impedance dynamic or condenser microphones (including wireless microphone systems), as well as line-level sources, and up to 16 units can be daisy-chained via Cat5e cable. Audio-Technica also featured its new ATM610a/S Hypercardioid Dynamic Handheld Microphone. A variation on A-T’s ATM610a, the ATM610a/S features a lockable MagnaLock on/off switch design for silent on/off operation, among other features. The company also featured its Audio-Technica Offers System 10 Digital Wireless System, which operates in the 2.4 GHz range; and noted its new Systems Integration Resource Center (SIRC) website for consultants, contractors and system integrators.

Aviom’s new D800-Dante A-Net Distributor and SB4 System Bridge can combine up to four synchronized 16-channel Pro16 A-Net streams to distribute to a personal mixing system. Aviom’s new A360 Personal Mixers are driven by a 36-channel mix engine, and channels can be selected and organized individually for each personal mixer, drawing from a network pool of up to 64 channels. With the SB4, those 64 channels can all come directly from a digital console via Aviom16/o-Y1 A-Net Cards for Yamaha consoles or any of the other consoles that connect directly to an Aviom system through A-Net cards. In addition, the D800 A-Net Distributor introduces two new features to Aviom personal mixing systems using A360 Personal Mixers. The new Network Mix Back allows the digital stereo mix from each A360 Personal Mixer connected to the D800 to be sent to an AN-16/o v.4 Output Module for use with wireless transmitters. With Network Mix Back, wireless in-ears can be set up off stage and cabling for the personal mixers on stage is simplified. In addition, the D800 will be able to serve as a communications hub for iOS devices connected via an Ethernet WiFi router.

Bosch launched its PLENA matrix Digital Sound System to the U.S. market. It promises to serve as a flexible and reliable digital audio control solution for health clubs, hotels, restaurants, bars and business centers along with retail stores and schools. Along with a GUI, DSP processor and two types of 4-channel class-D amplifiers, up to eight zones can be addressed and controlled wirelessly via an iPad, iPod or iPhone. Bosch also touted the Americas introduction of DCN multimedia, a new conference system that uses IP-based Omneo media networking architecture and touch-screen conference devices for participants using a version of the Android operating system.

Bose expanded its range of RoomMatch array module loudspeaker line with 22 new modules featuring large-format asymmetrical waveguides and pattern control down to 800 Hz; they promise to improve vocal clarity by reducing room reflections in the 1-4 kHz vocal intelligibility range. For foreground music, under-balcony, zone fill and vocal-range floor monitor applications, Bose offered its RoomMatch Utility RMU208. Also featured: the RoomMatch RMS218 subwoofer. Bose also added three configurable power amplifiers to its PowerMatch line. They are designed to overcome problems stemming from variations in AC line voltage, rack temperature and output load conditions. Configurable through the use of QuadBridge technology, each amplifier is capable of combining 2 or 4 output channels, for additional flexibility to overcome varying power levels and loudspeaker impedances. Also new: Bose’s ControlSpace ESP engineered sound processors.

CAD Audio offered its Sessions professional headphone line in new custom colors. The phones feature a wide (10 Hz to 24k Hz) response, high SPL capability, padding for comfortable listening and excellent isolation for hearing in difficult environments. MSRP is $159.

Cadac, a first-time exhibitor at InfoComm 2012, returned for 2013 with its latest analog and digital mixing consoles and noted the development of its MEGACOMMS network protocol, which enables transmission of 256 channels of 96kHz/24bit audio on a single stream for up to 150 meters via coaxial. Sharing the stand with its U.S. distributor, LIFT Distribution, Cadac’s sales and engineering professionals also offered demos of the company’s CDC8 and CDC Four digital mix systems. Also featured: the LIVE1 compact analog console series and mid-to-large-scale S-Type analog console. A Cadac S-Type console was also used for demos at the KV2 Audio listening booth.

Carvin featured its TRx3118 Flyable Subwoofer. Designed for use with the TRx3210 modular line array system, the TRx3118 4000W 18-inch subwoofer is now flyable using SureFly hardware. The TRx3118’s low-profile bass reflex enclosure has three mounts for attaching two pole-elevated TRx3210 line array elements or TRx3903 column line array elements. The TRx3118 cabinet also has foot receptacles for ground-stacking multiple subwoofers and/or TRx3210 elements.

Clear-Com featured the company’s RS-701 Beltpack, the first model in a new line of RS-700 Series wired, analog partyline beltpacks. Their rugged ergonomic housing is designed for use for rental and staging applications and for use within performing arts centers and houses of worship. Clear-Com also launched the enhanced HelixNet partyline intercom system, which holds promise as a cost-effective solution for distributing many network digital partyline channels and program audio feeds to dozens of digital beltpacks. Two new modules, the HLI-ET2 Ethernet Module (for Main Station-to-Main Station networking over fiber or a LAN) and the HLI-FBS Fiber Module (for daisy-chaining fiber interfaces to link Main Stations over long distances) are part of that product offering.

d&b audiotechnik displayed products from its White and Black ranges and provided stations to introduce ArrayCalc V7 acoustic modeling software and demonstrate a sample R1/R70 remote system control setup. Members of the company’s education staff were on hand to show how ArrayCalc V7 could help with system designs incorporating both point source and line array elements.

Danley Sound offered its OS80 Weatherized Speaker, designed to be nearly impervious to weather. Well suited for outdoor installations at sports venues, theme parks, cruise ships and swimming areas, its specs include an 80° conical coverage, 113 Hz to 18 kHz response and 127 dB continuous SPLs. A 12-inch woofer and 1.4-inch driver energize the Synergy horn and are hidden inside a 51-pound, 32 x 26 x 14.5-inch molded poly-composite enclosure.

DiGiCo, supported by U.S. distributor Group One Ltd., introduced the SD9T Theatre Upgrade, which gives users a significant expansion in channel count, dynamic EQs, multiband compressors and matrix, plus the addition of DiGiTuBes, Reorder of Buses and Multichannel inputs (formerly only available on SD7), along with a new Players function, to help engineers quickly deal with on-stage changes in the roster of performers. Other new features include template sessions and Sets, which has been enhanced to allow for “Set Spill” for changing the console layout to display members of that Set via a simple button press. Group One also provided information on a SD Convert File Interchange Application and promoted the latest developments in signal processing from XTA.

DPA Microphones featured its d:dicate podium mic solutions. New DPA accessories let users combine capsules from the company’s d:dicate recording mic line to create new combinations for podium, desk stand and other live sound applications. These include Modular active cables — the MMP-ER (rear cable entry) and MMP-ES (side entry) — plus modular active booms (MMP-F) in several lengths and configurations, with flexible gooseneck and XLR terminations.

Gator Cases announced two new custom-fit models for Yamaha’s LS9-16 and LS9-32 channel boards. Both cases feature heavy-duty plywood construction, casters and a laminated PVC exterior. A unique doghouse design not only helps secure the mixer inside, but also provides easy cable routing and full rear access while in the case. The LS9-16 case weights 40 pounds; the LS9-32 weighs 83 pounds.

Harman’s AKG introduced the C111LP earhook microphone, which connects to all AKG pocket transmitters via 3-pin mini XLR; its frequency response ranges from 60-15.000hz, with an omni-directional polar pattern. AKG’s new Discussion System CS3, a simpler version of the CS5, also debuted, as did the division’s new DMM6 and DMM12 digital automatic microphone mixers.  The DMM6 has six inputs and two line outputs at 1x stereo; DMM12 offers 12 inputs and four line outputs (2x stereo).

Harman’s BSS Audio introduced its Soundweb London BLU-GPX GPIO Expander, a network-controlled GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output) component that facilitates the addition of Control Inputs, Logic Outputs and relays to systems that require extra analog control and interfacing capability. BSS Audio also introduced its BLU-Si BLU link Card, a 32 x 32-channel interface that connects to a BLU link digital audio bus via a standard Cat 5e cable. It enables Soundcraft Si Expression, Si Performer and Si Compact mixing consoles to be connected to Harman components equipped with a BLU link interface. BSS Audio also announced that its Soundweb London BLU-806 and BLU-326 with Audinate’s Dante-enabled processors are now shipping.

Harman’s Crown Audio showcased its DriveCore Install (DCi) Series power amplifiers, the successor to Crown’s CTs Series amplifiers with new DriveCore technology designed with reliability, sound quality and efficiency in mind. DriveCore has also been incorporated within five JBL Commercial CSMA series of mixer/amplifiers, including the CSMA2120, CSMA280, CSMA240, CSMA1120 and CSMA180.

Harman’s JBL showcased its compact CWT128 loudspeaker featuring CWT Crossfired Waveguide Technology for 160° horizontal coverage. Measuring 31.94 by 10.22 by  11.84 inches (HxWxD), the CWT128 takes up about a third of the footprint of two speakers arranged side by side. It’s designed for performance spaces, houses of worship, auditoriums, transportation facilities, theme parks, sports facilities and other indoor and outdoor applications. JBL also introduced new in-ceiling loudspeaker series for public spaces including the Control 16C/T, Control 14C/T and Control 12C/T.

Harman’s Soundcraft has announced a new option card in the ViSi Connect series of expansions for its Si Expression, Si Compact and Si Performer consoles. The card provides users with a multi-channel, multi-format interface for live and studio recording to DAWs and other recording systems. The Harman division also announced a software update for its Si Compact consoles and Soundcraft Mini Stagebox 16 and 32, as well as the forthcoming Soundcraft Dante and BSS BLU link interface cards. The new Dante card will handle 64 channels in and out onto an Audinate Dante network, while the BSS BLU link card provides a 32 x 32 interface to the BSS digital audio bus, so can be easily integrated with dbx’s PMC Personal Monitor System and BSS Soundweb London devices.

Harman’s Studer now offers VistaMix automatic microphone mixing to relieve the need for House of Worship operators to manually adjust faders. VistaMix leaves the microphones of talking participants open while closing the microphones of silent participants to reduce spill and background noise. VistaMix is available for all existing Vista systems with SCore Live DSP engines and the Vista 1. Users upgrade to software version 4.9 and add the new VistaMix channels to their DSP configurations; no additional hardware is required.

Juice Goose offered its RackPower 100 (RP100) and RackPower200 (RP200) power distribution modules in 15- and 20-amp versions. Features include a two-function power meter that shows volts or amps; pull-out cool-to-touch LED light tubes; front and rear USB power ports and rear AC outlets that are rotated and spaced to accommodate wall warts. Multi-stage power conditioning components include a series choke and fast reaction time surge clamps across hot, neutral and ground.

K-array showcased the latest model in the Redline series — the KRM33, a.k.a. “cheese box.” Also featured at PL+S 2013, the KRM33 is a compact, low-profile wedge speaker with a controlled horizontal pattern and extended frequency response. Applications range from use as under-balcony speakers in theaters to studio use. Also snaking its way into the Sennheiser/K-array booth this year: K-array’s bendable Anakonda KAN200. It can be wrapped around poles or mounted to uneven surfaces. Speakers are available in 6-foot lengths, and up to 16 Anakonda KAN200 elements can be linked via integrated NL4 connectors.

Klark Teknik’s half-rack DN9620 AES50 Extender accepts two Cat-5e AES50 streams, multiplexing up to 96 bi-directional channels of 48-96 kHz/24-bit audio via a single fiber-optic cable (up to 500 m) or a single Cat-5e cable (up to 100 m), with multiple clocking options and low-0.105 ms latency. Shipped in pairs, the DN9620 overcomes the inherent limitations of Cat-5e cabling, which limits cable runs between AES50 devices to 100 meters and the unit can also operate as an optical snake system for any console that supports the AES50 protocol.

L-Acoustics showcased the 5XT ultra-compact coaxial enclosure and SB15m compact subwoofer. The 5XT, the smallest of L-Acoustics’ XT coaxial series, has a two-way passive design with a nominal impedance of 16 ohms. It uses a one-inch diaphragm compression driver coaxially loaded by a five-inch low-mid frequency transducer mounted in a bass-reflex tuned Baltic birch enclosure. A 3/8-inch microphone stand insert and two M8 inserts for the ETR5 flying bracket are integrated into the cabinet. The 5XT operates over a frequency range of 95 Hz to 20 kHz, with a 110-degree axi-symmetric directivity output. The SB15m compact subwoofer, recommended for use with L-Acoustics’ KIVA and XT series enclosures including the 5XT, features a single 15-inch driver. It can extend the operating frequency range of these systems down to 40 Hz. Both the 5XT and SB15m are powered and processed by the LA4/LA8 and the forthcoming LA4X amplified controller, and both are now shipping.

Luminex Network Intelligence, a Belgium-based developer of lighting control, pro audio and video data distribution equipment, made its InfoComm debut showing its new GigaCore 12, GigaCore 14R and GigaCore 16Xt Ethernet switches with updated web-based user interface. The low-jitter switches feature rugged construction, Neutrik etherCON connectors and a rackmount enclosure well-suited for touring or installs. All models feature twelve 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet connections 
(10 front/two rear), status LEDs and an RLinkX function to easily create redundant ports for secured links.

Martin Audio’s MLA Mini is ultra-compact, yet a 12-box array can handle venues up to 1,000, with individual cells under software control so “hard avoid” areas can be programmed to reduce sound spill. Each MLA Mini has two 6.5-inch LF drivers and three 1.4-exit HF drivers on a 100-degree (horizontal) horn. A companion MSX 15-inch flyable subwoofer houses amplification, networking and DSP to power itself and control four MLA Mini’s. Systems can be flown, ground-stacked or pole mounted.

Merging Technologies’ Ovation Media Server/Sequencer leaps to version 4 with a host of new features requested by theatre, theme park and live event users. Besides last-moment track editing/cue adjustment, it features up to 384-track playback, control protocol firing via any system configuration (MIDI, RS-232, GPIO, RS-422, LTC, TCP/IP, Script, etc.), sync connection over a standard IT network and frame-accurate lock between multiple timelines in Watchout. Using the Horus audio I/O interface adds Ravenna network and MassCore Audio Engine access.

Meyer Sound featured its Galileo Callisto 616 array processor, designed for driving and aligning Meyer Sound loudspeaker arrays and offers six inputs, 16 outputs and a digital matrix processor — all controllable via the accompanying Compass control software using a Mac or PC. It features user-defined shaping filters, low/high-pass filters for subwoofer control and an extensive equalization architecture with U-Shaping equalization, 10-band complementary phase parametric filtering (both on outputs) and TruShaping equalization on inputs. The 616 can also connect directly to the SIM 3 audio analyzer.

Middle Atlantic Products unveiled their new Reference Series Lectern, which combines the strength and functionality of a rack with the look of furniture. Customizable Presenter’s Panels can have cutouts to incorporate the controls, touchscreens and other devices necessary for end user requirements.  The open frame design also includes built-in power distribution and installer-friendly provisions for both cable and thermal management. Options include one bay, 1.5 bay or dual bay widths and 13 standard finishes.

NTi Audio displayed its XL2-TA sound level meter which, together with the M2230 measurement mic, has received PTB Class-1 approval for environmental noise, occupational health and sound insulation applications where the measurements are required to be certified in accordance with IEC 61672, IEC 61260 and ANSI S1.4 Type-1 performance standards. Existing users can upgrade their XL2 Analyzers to a type-approved XL2-TA by installing of the Type Approval Option and the certified V2.52 firmware.

One Systems, Inc. featured its 112/NAT-White and 108/NAT-White loudspeakers. Both were designed for use in indoor swimming pool environments, with AL6XN stainless steel for all structural and rigging elements. They are based upon One Systems’ 112IM and 108IM. One Systems also featured its new marine-grade versions of its small-format speakers, for use on cruise ships, including the 103IM-W/Marine and the 106IM-W/Marine. They have white enclosures, stainless steel “rain shield” grills and an IP56 rating for weather resistance.

Optocore offered new MADI Switches designed for low latency and fast setup. Equipped with 10 or 18 ports of MADI, the switches allow distribution over Cat-5 cabling, in addition to MADI-over-fiber and MADI-over-BNC. The RJ-45 MADI ports introduce greater flexibility, lower cost and simplified MADI connectivity. Additionally, each switch has two redundant high-speed, 2 GB fiber uplink ports that switch/route 16 MADI streams and Ethernet to create larger switches for bigger-sized infrastructures. Each port on the MADI Switch allows for a 64-in/64-out point-to-point connection, as well as 100Mb of Ethernet on a single Cat-5 cable.

Outline announced the official U.S. launch of its GTO C-12 Line Array. Derived from the larger dual-15 GTO, the new GTO C-12 line source array has dual 12-inch woofers, four 6.5-inch cone midrange units and two 3-inch throat compression drivers. Its footprint is the same as all the other modules in the GTO range, allowing full mechanical compatibility with GTO, GTO-SUB, GTO-LOW and GTO-DF in terms of rigging, flying hardware and wheel boards. The GTO C-12 cabinet is 21.6 percent smaller in the vertical plane than the GTO, and the overall cabinet weight is 30 percent less that its larger sibling.

QSC launched its PLD series amplifiers (for live events) and CXD Series (for installed applications). Both feature Flexible Amplifier Summing Technology (FAST), advanced DSP and loudspeaker management along with Class D amplification with Power Factor Correction (PFC).

Peavey noted that its Elements line of two-way, IP45-rated weatherproof speakers are now shipping. They incorporate an advanced composite fiberboard enclosure designed to be dimensionally stable in wet conditions and able to resists contamination, without sacrificing the resonant properties of wood. They also feature aluminum grills with a barrier membrane that repels water — yet allows moisture to escape — without affecting sonic performance. The Elements C series combines an 8/12/15-inch woofer with 2-inch compression driver; the Elements M series has molded cabinets with an 8/10/12-inch woofer and 2-inch compression driver. Flyable dual-12 subwoofers are available for each series.

Point Source Audio featured its Series8 Miniature Mics, which are available in omnidirectional (CO-8) and cardioid (CR-8) headset, earworn and lavalier forms. They are designed to be resistant to both boom breakage and moisture (via water/sweat-proof protected elements) and offer easy servicing via “X-connectors.” Performance criteria includes 148dB max SPL (CO-8) and 135dB max SPL (CR-8). The Series8 omnidirectional (CO-8) and cardioid (CR-8) headset and earworn mics will be shipping late June. The lavalier styles will ship in October.

RCF showcased its TT1-A, which features a neodymium 3.0” voice coil compression driver on a large, constant directivity, precision horn. Also on display: the TT2-A, a compact two-way speaker for near field sound reinforcement, live sound and corporate events. The stand also included the TT5-A, a two-way speaker for mid field and near field sound reinforcement, live performance and events. Also on show was the NXL 24-A, an active column speaker with 4 x 6” woofers, a 2.5” voice coil compression driver loaded from a waveguide on a 100° x 30° constant directivity horn. The NXL 24-A has DSP and a 1400W amplifier.  Also featured: the SUB 8004-AS 18” subwoofer, which is powered by a 1250W digital amplifier module.

Riedel Communications featured its MediorNet MN-C-OPT-HDMI and MN-HDO-4IO universal video cards for the company’s MediorNet Modular network. They support a variety of compact optical transceivers and are designed to let users flexibly configure MediorNet systems for bidirectional transport of analog composite video, HDMI, DVI, and optical or coaxial SDI signals. Depending on the SFP transceivers installed, the card can provide a combination of either four HD (1.5G) or two 1080p (3G) bidirectional video signals or analog video, HDMI, DVI, or optical SDI video I/O, and the HDMI I/Os feature self-locking mini HDMI connectors. Riedel also displayed two new Connect AVB (Audio Video Bridging) interfaces — the Connect AVB C8 and Connect AVB A8 — which transport analog or AES3/EBU digital audio over AVB-capable local area networks (LANs) in real time. Riedel also announced version 1.14 of its MediorWorks configuration, control and monitoring software.

Sennheiser debuted its wireless LSP 500 PRO, with an app that can remotely control volume, equalizer, delay and other settings — individually or in groups — for up to 20 loudspeakers at the same time. Each Sennheiser LSP 500 PRO can take up to three receivers for wireless microphones, and each also has a combined socket for a 6.3 mm jack plug and an XLR-3 connector for using a wired microphone. The loudspeaker also has a USB connector and a Bluetooth interface as well as an AUX input and output and built-in music player with a recording function. Two rechargeable batteries can supply power — one at a time. The LSP 500 PRO is compatible with microphones from Sennheiser’s evolution wireless 100, 300 and 500 series. The speaker comes with a dust cover. A white stretch cover, a padded rugged cover and a trolley bag for secure transportation are available as accessories.

Shure offered its flagship universal-fit SE846 Sound Isolating Earphones, a three-way in-ear system with Quad High-Definition MicroDrivers and a low-pass filter with a true subwoofer that promises deep low-end performance. The lightweight, low-profile SE846 offers customization via three changeable nozzles that change response with balanced, warm and bright options. It also includes a detachable, replaceable cable, three pairs of disposable black foam sleeves, three pairs of soft flex sleeves and a carry case. Shure also featured its Microflex Wireless Microphone Systems, a scalable line of networked digital wireless solutions with precision audio reproduction in high-end AV conferencing environments.

Symetrix featured its SymNet Radius AEC, a core acoustic echo-cancelling device for deployment in teleconferencing installations. The 1U rack unit has eight mic/line wideband echo cancellers, eight line outputs and four auxiliary line inputs. As a building block in larger systems, Radius AEC offers Dante for network connectivity to additional Radius or SymNet Edge DSPs along with SymNet 12-channel I/O expanders.

Technomad offered its upgraded PowerChiton series weatherproof amplifier modules (available up to 1,400 watts) and breakout boxes with more options for outdoor venue and facility installs. New choices include balanced or unbalanced inputs, three filter options (85 Hz low-pass and 85/350 Hz high-pass) and BreakoutBox XL. The latter is a deeper enclosure with three expansion bays for wireless mics, custom master audio playout systems and extra locking storage space and a mic/balanced line input channel.

Triad-Orbit Advanced Mic Stands, distributed by Full Compass, are based on the TRIAD articulating tripod mic stands. Designed to enhance mic placement and set-up, they let users create a wide range of configurations and precision control from a selection of available stands, booms, adapters and couplers. These include 5-position ratcheting-leg tripod bases for up to 65° pitch; ORBIT orbital booms with 360° to 220° rotation; single/dual-arm booms; and more.

VUE Audiotechnik featured its recently-released SystemVUE networking/control software for all VUE DSP-enabled loudspeakers and processors, including the h-Class full-range systems and subs, as well as the V4 Systems Engine powering the al-4 compact line array. The free Mac/PC software automatically creates a TCP/IP-based network where any SystemVUE-enabled product will recognize and connect to virtually any kind of IP configuration — or directly connected to a computer via an Ethernet cable. System and device-level control/monitoring capabilities are provided via an intuitive, powerful user interface.

Waves Audio, in collaboration with DiGiCo and Soundtracs, featured DiGiGrid, which enables users of Native DAWs, Pro Tools and MADI-enabled live and broadcast mixing consoles to have access to Waves SoundGrid audio networking and real-time processing. For live stage operations, DiGiGrid MADI-to-SoundGrid interfaces let users of any MADI-enabled console take advantage of low-latency networking and processing. Waves also touted its collaborative efforts with the AVnu Alliance. Recently-launched plug-ins for live applications, meanwhile, include the new GEQ Graphic Equalizer and Waves’ IR-Live Convolution Reverb. Waves also highlighted its eMotion Mixer for SoundGrid (including the eMotion LV1 for live sound FOH and monitor applications). Also featured: the new Manny Marroquin Signature Series Collection plug-ins.
