AKG Takes the Stage on Grammy Weekend

LOS ANGELES — AKG wireless audio was used by Kanye West and Neil Diamond they performed at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards and at related events in Los Angeles. Soundtronics Wireless coordinated the wireless microphone set-up prior to the Grammys and ATK Audiotek deployed the AKG products at the show.

Neil Diamond kicked off the weekend of Grammy events with a gala tribute with 2,200 guests at the Los Angeles Convention Center, where two WMS4500 wireless systems supported by D5 microphones provided audio.

Diamond was honored as the 2009 MusiCares Person of the Year at the 19th annual gala and was on stage with Grammy winners including Adele, Eric Benet, Terrence Blanchard, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Josh Groban, Jennifer Hudson, Tim McGraw and others.     

Commenting on Neil Diamond and Kanye West’s use of AKG products at the GRAMMYS is Vice-President of Sales at AKG, Nick Owen.

In addition to the WMS4500 wireless microphone systems, AKG showcased a diverse group of wired microphones at the Grammy’s including eight C414, two D112, five D40 microphone systems, six D5 handheld vocal mics, five C430 condenser, six 518M micro series and seven PCC170 Crown Boundary microphones.
