AES Announces Convention Workshops and Tutorials

NEW YORK —AES announced a mix of advanced workshops and more fundamental tuturial presentations for its 127th convention at the Javits Center from Oct. 9-12, a process called “a demanding challenge” by Agnieszka Roginska, convention committee chair.
“As an educator (University of Massachusetts, Lowell), author, engineer, and producer, Workshop & Tutorials Chair Alex Case has drawn from his vast reservoir of industry knowledge and sources to develop a singularly broad and ambitious program,” Roginska said.

The 22 workshop and seven tutorial presentations include:

1080P and MP3: We Got the Picture. What Happened to the Sound?, Blu-ray as a High Resolution Audio Format for Stereo and Surround, What Will Perceptual Audio Coding Stand for 20 Years from Now?, Can 21st Century Technology Outdo the Audio Achievements of the 20th?, Audio Myths—Defining What Affects Audio Reproduction and Pimp Your Mix, where mixers Bassy Bob Brockmann (Christina Aguilera, Babyface, Fugees) and Ryan West (Rihanna, Kanye West, John Legend) bring a key feature of their Elements of Mixing, Pimp your Mix, seminar to the AES.Other workshops include Max for Live: Chair, led by Yukio King, Ableton AG and a panel of industry leaders, Virtual Haydn: Recording and Performing in Virtual Acoustics.
