ANAHEIM, CA – Adamson Systems Engineering may not have had a booth at the recent Winter NAMM, but a couple of their Point Series boxes were at the show, used for sound reinforcement at the Waves Audio booth.
Waves' booth featured mixing engineers Chris Lord-Alge, Eddie Kramer, Jack Joseph Puig and Tony Maserati, who spoke about their work with various Waves tools. The Adamson gear needed to reliably deliver clear audio over the noise floor of the show, without disturbing other exhibitors.
The setup at NAMM was simple: a plug-and-play package incorporated two of Adamson's passive Point 8 boxes, the series' smallest, which were mounted on the booth structure using Omnimount fixtures.
The package was complete with NL4 cabling, a single Lab.gruppen fP10000Q amplifier and an XTA DP424 processor, all mounted on an Adamson custom flight case. Ewan McDonald, Adamson applications specialist, prepared and shipped the system, which was set up at the show by Scott Pederson, Waves' educational specialist.
Adamson's Israeli rental partner Kolot Ramim's Gadi Reik and Yossi Bar established the initial connection with Waves by way of Waves director of business development Asher Bitansky, who was put in touch with Jochen Sommer, Adamson Europe GmbH Director of Operations.
"Thanks to the Adamson team, the system had a wonderful natural sound, easily heard above the trade show floor's noise level, without any additional effort on the presenter's part," said Bitansky after the show.
