NORTH AMERICA – A memoir of Peter Janis, founder of Radial Engineering, has been completed posthumously and is available now on Amazon.com: Lessons Learned: A Rock & Roll Guide for Entrepreneurs.
“In his final years, Peter wrote down the story of his life and all of the lessons he learned as a behemoth in the music industry,” noted his son, Adam Janis, who completed the project. All proceeds from the book go to the NAMM Foundation, Adam Janis added.
Janis, the driving force behind Radial Engineering from when it launched its first product, the Radial JDI Direct Box in 1996 until the company was sold in 2018, died Aug. 7, 2024, after his cancer returned.
Adam Janis’ description of the book in a press release follows:
In Lessons Learned: A Rock n’ Roll Guide for Entrepreneurs, Peter details his journey from playing in rock bands in the 1970s to growing Radial Engineering into an industry staple.
In this book, you walk into Peter’s brain and the stories he liked to tell.
Some of my personal favorites are:
- When he walked away from a multi-million-dollar negotiation (and how they came back!)
- How he got Radial DIs into all the clubs in Nashville to turn it into “Radial City”
- Why he sold the business and the tell-tale signs of when you should sell
- How he stayed successful by hiring people smarter than himself
