DORNACH, Switzerland — The Goetheanum, based here, is the global headquarters for Anthroposophy, a philosophy founded by Rudolf Steiner. Named after Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the original structure was designed by Steiner himself. Now featuring two performance halls with a total seating capacity near 1,500, the Goetheanum’s audio setup also now includes Allen & Heath iLive systems.
More details from Allen & Heath (www.allen-heath.com):
An iLive system comprising two iDR-32 MixRacks configured in DualRack mode with an iLive-T80 Surface in the control room, has been installed in the main 1000-seat auditorium. A smaller iDR-16 MixRack has been purchased as a portable system, which can be used with a PL-10 remote controller in the venue’s smaller lecture and conference theatres, or added via the network for additional I/O duties in the main auditorium.
The Goetheanum also has gallery and lecture spaces, a library, a bookstore, and administrative spaces for the Anthroposophical Society, and neighboring buildings house the Society’s research and educational facilities.
The Goetheanum hosts performances by its in-house artistic community including the eurythmy dance troupes, as well as visiting performers from around the world. There are also conferences focusing on themes of general interest several times a year, and there are specialist conferences for teachers, farmers, doctors, therapists, and other professions held regularly.
