Tess Partners with Music Support on World Mental Health Day

BRISTOL, U.K. – The Event Safety Shop Ltd (Tess) announced on Oct. 10, World Mental Health Day, that it has partnered with Music Support to further enable the charity’s ambitious training program, along with its work with individuals in the U.K. music industry suffering from mental, emotional and behavioral health disorders.

“With three decades working in live events I have too many personal experiences witnessing people suffering with mental health issues without adequate support,” said Tess director Simon James. “We work in a pressured environment and we’re very proud to do what we can assisting Music Support bringing empathetic, professional help into the music industry.”

Music Support offers a confidential helpline service as well as running training workshops and has introduced “Safe Hubs” backstage at music festivals, where artists or anyone working backstage can speak confidentially to trained industry peer mental health first aider for help and advice.

“Music Support is delighted that Tess has chosen to support the charity in helping industry peers affected by mental ill health and/or addiction issues,” said Music Support managing director Eric Mtungwazi. “Tess is a leader in the field of health and safety needs, and we see this partnership as a significant industry step forward towards putting mental and physical health agenda on more even footing for the wellbeing of the community we serve.”
