TBILISI — Tbilisi’s main opera house in the Georgian capital here has been working with Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup on an AV upgrade that includes a new audio, video and stage management system. Mediagroup was commissioned to do the planning and to supply and install all audio and video hardware.
More details from Salzbrenner Stagetec Mediagroup (www.stagetec.com):
System components include an Auratus mixing console with Nexus audio network for sound reinforcement in the theatre along with an extensive stage management system from the PerformanCeTRL product line. The system also includes components from the oratis intercom series, which provides all the audio functions and extensive logic programming, while MediaControl handles control — a symbiosis which also deals with the cue light signals for the many lights labeled in Georgian characters. An extensive video infrastructure with cameras and monitor screens complements the stage manager system.
The building, originally opened in 1896, was gutted as part of its restoration. Its largest hall seats close to 800. It is scheduled to reopen after complete refurbishment in the second half of 2014.
