VALENCIA, Spain — For the finals game staged at the 9,000-capacity Fuente San Luis, Sonovideo provided an audio system capable of rising above the cheers of the capacity crowd supporting the home team, the Valencia Basket, as they took on the Unics Kazan (from Russia). The audio was flown above center court, with six LX-V8 arrays rigged on an aluminium frame.

Valencia Basket crowned European Champions with Lynx Pro Audio.
A Lynx Pro Audio LX -V8 line array system was used for the final of basketballs EUROCUP. The final was between teams Unics Kazan (from Russia) and Valencia Basket (from Spain) with the final played over two legs and Valencia Basket winning both legs to become European Champions.
Fuente San Luis in Valencia, where the first leg was played has a capacity of 9,000 and was full to the brim. The audio was flown under the centre marker, with six LX-V8 arrays around an aluminium frame. All Lynx LX -V8 boxes installed had the possibility to be controlled by Ethernet, meaning the OCS control software could control the settings for each zone to perfection, providing power and intelligibility for the event. In total 20 LX -V8 units were used in the pavilion for the sound reinforcement. Guillermo Tébar, sound engineer for Sonovideo, the company which carried out the installation tells us a little about his experience with the Lynx line array: “This is possibly the best sound we’ve done in Fuente San Luis for this type of event and not only for the general sound of the system, but for real-time management as well as the incredible coverage achieved for such a small amount of cabinets. We were able to control levels independently per box, allowing us to adjust them to cover corresponding seating, optimally covering all areas of the Pavilion, with a crisp and uniform sound. “
The LX -V8 enclosure is a compact Self-powered (Class D switch mode power supply) V-Configuration front loaded, two-way Line Array It uses two 8″ neodymium transducers with nomex cones and two 1″high frequency neodymium magnet drivers with titanium diaphragm and individual wave guide. It is DSP (FIR technology) controlled with 1500W amplification, 134db SPL and each box also includes a built-in inclinometer.
