MELBOURNE, Australia — Planetshakers City Church at the Dallas Brooks Centre in downtown Melbourne, known for its contemporary praise and worship music along with the evangelical spoken word of its pastors, is using d&b audiotechnik V-Series gear.
The installation, overseen by production director Dan Cornwell, followed a recommendation by Dave Jacques at National Audio Systems (NAS).
“We have an expanding congregation and a venue that can accommodate 2,200 across the stalls and two balconies,” said Cornwell, who noted the need for both spoken word intelligibility and high SPL music. “Clear and consistent coverage across the broadest frequency spectrum” was also a key factor in selecting the d&b system, Cornwell noted. “The system exceeded our expectations.”
Jacques consulted with d&b Application Support in Germany to optimize the sound quality for those seated in the balcony areas and main seating areas.
Along with a full complement of V-Series, V8, V12, and V-SUB speakers/subwoofers, the final system included B2 subs as well as elements of Q-Series and 5S and 8S loudspeakers from the d&b White range for fill and delay.
Cornwell and his team undertook the installation of the system, with assistance from NAS.
