Outline Loudspeaker Factory Equipped with Solar Cells

Share this Post:

BRESCIA, Italy – Outline recently inaugurated a factory that gets part of its power from solar panels on the roof. The energy division of the Marcegaglia group developed the system, which uses an amorphous silicon photovoltaic system to turn sunshine into electricity.
"Approximately a third of the energy necessary for building our loudspeaker systems is provided by this photovoltaic system," said Outline's Stefano Noselli. "We're at the beginning of the road but are rightly proud. The aim we're determined to achieve by 2015 is to considerably reduce the energy consumption necessary for our activity by means of a series of projects that have already been planned for some time."

Other "green"-minded initiatives at the company include the use of water-based paints and packaging that can be recycled. Outline also noted that it uses highly localized production to minimize the use of non-renewable energy sources.
