Vertrieb & Consulting GmbH provided One System CrossField Array-2TM (CFA-2) loudspeakers to meet the audio needs of the four-day World Cable Ski Championship held here Sept. 24-27. The event featured water skiers and wakeboard riders pulled by a cable system across a lake instead of a motorboat.

The World Cable Ski Championship was recently held at the Schloss Dankern holiday center located in Germany’s Emsland region. The resort is located on the banks of the Dankernsee, one of the largest lakes in the area, which features an 800-meter cable system for water skiing and wakeboarding.
German One Systems distributor, S.E.A. Vertrieb & Consulting GmbH supplied One System CrossField Array-2TM (CFA-2) loudspeakers to reinforce the four-day Cable Ski Championship event.
“We placed two CFA-2 loudspeakers across the lake from the resort and the results were exceptional,” explains Matthias Bremer, technical director at S.E.A. “Speech was crystal clear throughout the area along with crisp sound for background music – it was outstanding.”
The CFA-2 was designed to provide high intelligibility and output in long throw applications. The loudspeaker is a nominal 55 degree horizontal by 30 degree array that features a fully rotatable high frequency horn/waveguide. This allows the CFA-2 to be used in either a vertical or horizontal orientation and still provide the desired coverage patterns.
HF is provided by two large format close-spaced compression drivers coupled to a 2-inch (50.8mm) constant directivity horn. Four bandwidth optimized 10-inch (254mm) diameter woofers in a 2 x 2 array provide substantial low frequency.
The CFA-2 is a direct weather design that features a three layer stainless steel grill assembly. The enclosure design is a laminated fiberglass construction with high safety factory structural rigging points molded in the enclosure shell.
“It is astounding how far the loudspeakers can throw and still maintain intelligibility,” Bremer enthuses. “The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation had never experienced a direct weather system that was this powerful and sounded as good as it did. They were very pleased.”
