BALLERUP, Denmark – Danish rental company Showtech Event Group supplied the Next-proaudio sound reinforcement setup for 8,000 people attending the Club Awards at Ballerup Super Arena March 19 in Denmark. Showtech recently increased its Next-proaudio inventory two months ago, having recently purchased a large quantity of Next LA212x and Las418 cabinets from the Portuguese manufacturer.

Sound reinforcement for the Club Awards comprised models from the manufacturer’s LA Series, with a total of 16 LA212x, 16 LAs418 as FOH, 28 LA122 as outfill and delay system, 8 LA122W, 2 Las218 as front fill and DJ Monitoring, and 8 Lam112x as stage monitors.
This event celebrates the Danish clubbing scene with 11 awards presented for the year. Some of Denmark’s most popular artists performed, such as Kato, Alexander Brown, Toomanylefthands, Ude Af Kontrol, Kenneth Bager, Muri & Mario, Visti & Meyland, DJ Martin Jensen, Electric Lady Lab and more. MTV broadcast the event the following week.
“The event is unique because it’s the biggest of its kind in Denmark,” said Jesper Christiansen, Showtech’s technical director. “ShowTech was involved because we are a full service company. The main challenge we had to overcome was the stage design — people were standing with microphones in front of the main PA system. We are pleased and proud of the project because the sound was very close to perfect. During the sound check with the artists there was a buzz that this was the best sound (system) that they ever had played on.”
