SINGAPORE — Making good on the pledge for international training events made during the company’s Global Distribution Meeting in October, K-array’s Francesco Maffei flew here for a seminar held Nov. 20-23. There, Maffei met distributor partners including representatives from Livegear in Japan, Soundus in Korea, Sennheiser China in Hong Kong and Sennheiser Asia, which hosted the Singapore event. The company expects to sponsor similar events in the U.S. and Hong Kong within the year ahead.

Dealers were also invited from the distributors. Victor Tan and his team went out of their way with to give top-notch hospitality and give maximum collaboration in terms of logistics, the meeting rooms and the availability of the required materials for the seminar.

The product specialists’ workshop presided by Francesco Maffei was held on 20th and 21st November, whereas the workshop regarding service departments operators and referees, presided by Daniel Strasserra was held on 22nd and 23rd. About 25 “students” attended the first seminar and a dozen others attended the second one. The key focus was on the latest K-array products, the Redlines with their DSP and management softwares, “dissected” down to the finest of details by Daniel for the group of technicians, whereas Francesco had a softer approach for those dealing with sales, but with a keen eye on the strategic aspects.

As it often happens when colleagues meet on these occasions, during the breaks those present enjoyed telling each other memorable stories, out of many years of experience in the sound industry but this also represented a chance to get to know each other better and think of better ways to collaborate, as Francesco reported: “Among the participants there was an ideal atmosphere, favourable for sharing ‘tricks of the trade’ even regarding the use of the products. It was a great opportunity to think of new partnerships and new ways of doing business. The rental companies in the same area thought of making each one’s systems available for the others in case of need or working together in the most challenging events.”

“This was just the first – added Francesco – of a series of seminars we are planning to hold abroad. Actually, our goal is to be the closest possible to our distributors and meet their needs as well as listen to their feedback and advice, which are vital to our work.”
