K-array Holds First Global Distributors Meeting

SAN PIERO A SIEVE, Italy — K-array drew more than 80 people from around the world to its headquarters here for its first Global Distributors Meeting (GDM) Oct. 2-3, 2012. The GDM represented a chance for the company and its distributors to all meet face to face and discuss new products and noteworthy installations.

After a welcoming cocktail party the evening before, the sessions started Oct. 2 at 10 am at a country resort near company headquarters.

Owners Alessandro Tatini and Massimo Ferranti provided the opening remarks, with R&D director Nicola Pieri and purchasing/manufacturing director Antonio Vanacore then discussing R&D, purchasing and production.

In the afternoon session, product specialist manager Francesco Maffei covered additional product details and training strategies relating to K-array’s two paths toward certification — Certified Operator/Designer (Live/Installed) and Certified Engineer (Live/Installed). He noted that the company’s 2013 workshops will take place in Italy for E.U in October, the USA in June and Hong Kong in April.

Marketing communication manager Andrea Torelli then spoke about the printed and iPad App accessible information in the company’s catalog, along with updates to the company’s website, which has been redesigned to represent the K-array image in a unified manner while still giving emphasis to local markets and requirements.

After a presentation from Michel Brouard, K-array’s new vice president, who spoke of the company’s plans to focus on and expand its presence in Asian markets, the day ended with Tuscan cuisine and live music heard via K-array RedLines, with the following distributors honored at an awards ceremony:

  • Sennheiser Hong Kong (Best Distributor)
  • Sennheiser Electronic Corporation (USA) (Best Installation)
  • Sennheiser UK (Best Broadcast Show)
  • Sennheiser Canada (Best Live Event_
  • Gobos do Brasil (Best Exhibition)

The next day’s workshops covered marketing (with Andrea Torelli and Chantal Lemieux), new products (with Francesco Maffei), software (with Tommaso Selvetti), service (with Daniel Strasserra) and sales forecast and purchase order procedures (with Cristina Noferini) along with one-to-one sessions.
