AARHUS, Denmark – K-array once again proved that an important audio system and ambitious architectural plans can both be fulfilled with the recent installation in Denmark. The EZA member center Krifa, the Christian Trade Union in Denmark, have moved into a brand new office in Aarhus., the second largest city in Denmark. Previously the headquarters were situated in Randers, where the organization was founded in 1899.

Krifa is both a Trade Union and an Unemployment Fund, which organizes members in all trades. The organization employs 800 employees and there is a total of approximately 210,000 members. As Krifa chose to build their new headquarters on the highest point overlooking Aarhus, the architects brief included a number of challenges even for the technical aspects that demanded the furniture and technology was pleasing to the eye and complimented the beautiful view.

In the building there is a large meeting area which is used for key events, live streaming, and the canteen. The brief demanded that the meeting room would blend into it’s flexible design and usage thus not becoming too dominant as a square working environment. The design was created to express freedom and open minds. Jan Juul Hansen, from MAVT DK distributor of K-array managed the audio setup for the building and knew exactly what speakers would fit to this new design.

The meeting space was divided into 7 delay time zones that covered the area with less than 3 dB deviation. For the aesthetics of the room, state of the art flat screen monitors were installed accompanied by 2 x KK200s to create an incredible clear sound in zone 1. Zone 2 included 2 x KK102s and 1 x KMT18P. The architecture of the delay system in zone 3 and 4 were completed with 4 x KK50S subs stored in the ceiling as custom-made grills which were made to look like the ventilation system. Delay zones 5 and 6 were installed with 2 x KK102Ws for the left & right. Delay zone 7 included 2 x KK52 hidden behind the door and were activated when the door opened and two small meeting rooms merged with the other. KA7 & KA-10s linked the system together.

“I am very proud and happy with this set up, in addition to this we also supplied all monitors and stage equipment, stage spot and signal distribution for live streaming and microphone equipment creating an incredibly effective audio system thanks to K-array.“
