LONDON – K-array Sound Systems has further established its global leadership in audio solutions by teaming with the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall to provide the prestigious members-only club with state-of-the-art sound technology, choosing K-array loudspeakers for its large banquet hall. The loudspeakers were installed last year in the Club‘s Mountbatten Room, a multipurpose room that hosts a range of events including weddings, conferences and banquets.

Keeping traditions
Known for its tradition and sophistication in a city chic location, the Club needed a high-quality audio solution to complement its impeccable dining and service standards. Yet the challenge was not to only determine which integrated sound system would meet the needs of a multitude of functions, but one that would not compromise the architecture and décor of the 104-year old building. “The room needed a new loudspeaker solution that sounded great and offered seamless coverage, but was as aesthetically sympathetic as possible,” says Contractor Jake Miller of RG Jones Sound Engineering Ltd, installers of the sound system.
Unmatched quality audio
After reviewing several of the solution K-array offers, the Club selected sixteen KZ12 miniature loudspeakers and five KKS50 subs. The KZ12 is a remarkable ultra-micro line array designed for discreet use while the KKS50 line is a compact but extremely powerful, line array bass system comprised of 4 x 4” neodymium transducers engineered for maximum linear excursion and minimum residual noise. “The Mountbatten Room predominantly hosts banquets and we needed a system that could ensure a speaker is heard by everybody, but the sound had to very natural,“ says Automobile Club Banqueting and Conference Manager, Hardie Bates. “As the room is also used for conferencing, it was important to get the sound right for both.” “Since the system was set up, we’ve been very happy with the sound. It’s got a good balance and everyone is very pleased with it.”
