TOKYO — The Miss International Beauty Pageant, staged at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel here Dec. 17, was heard via a K-array system provided by Creve LLC and sourced via Livegear Corp. Creve provided a KR402 system, including a KP102 thin line array for mid-high frequencies and a KMT21 21” sub, both designed for optimal coverage.

Creve also provided a KP52 from the K-array Python series, chosen for its long and wide horizontal coverage capabilities. Along with coverage, the system was chosen based on power, compact size and clarity.

Livegear product specialist Bobby Tanadi also credited the system for its practical advantages, which included speed of setup and tear-down.

Along with providing “the right sound at the right place,” he noted that, “instead of the normally required four hours of work for an installation of this type, with K-array, we were in and out in 30 minutes. Then there were three and half hours to make the most of the tuning of the system — and great coffee. Less stress, more time with K-array.”

One of the “big four” international beauty pageants (along with Miss World (founded in 1951), Miss Universe (founded in 1952), and Miss Earth (founded in 2001), the Miss International Beauty Pageant moved to Japan after being launched in Long Beach, CA in 1960.

In addition to the celebration of beauty, the Miss International Pageant is also known for its support of cross-cultural understanding and its advocacy of world peace.
