SENIGALLIA, Italy — The Summer Jamboree is a festival of American Rockabilly and Swing music and culture from the 1940s and 1950s. The event, conceived and organized by the Cultural Summer Jamboree Association and promoted by the Municipality of Senigallia in collaboration with Regione Marche and private sponsors, has grown in popularity, and this year included four stages. Top Service, a rental company, provided four K-array KH15’s for the main stage and K-array KH4’s for two of the other stages.

More details from K-array (http://www.k-array.com/en/):

Although Senigallia is a modest seaside town in comparison to the north of Rimini, it has now become the home of rockabilly and swing. The festival has characterized the European summer for the past 14 years with extraordinary guests and exclusive audience of fans coming from all over the world.

This year the festival attracted over 300.000 people, including fans from the small island of Samoa. And why not? The concerts bring in full-blown icons from the past like big stars similar to Chuck Berry, dance hall, burlesque shows, epic cars and a Hawaiian Party with themed “dress attire ”

From the days of playing to the days of celebrating on the streets, Robert, Johnson Lohr, Chuck Berry’s pianist commented “from an artist/sideman’s perspective […] the Summer Jamboree is easily the professional standard by which all roots festivals should be measured worldwide, end of story…”.

Lohr’s strong appreciation not only comes from his musician sensibilities but also from his role backstage: contact with the people and with the sound system equipment, in particular  with Top Service, the rental company that has managed the festival’s sound since its first edition.

This year, the festival’s numbers grew in leaps and bounds requiring four stages to be set up and managed (the crew was comprised of 11 people), and like every other year, K-array was there. Riccardo Rabini, the owner of Top Service relates with satisfaction: “K-array has been a huge supporter of the Summer Jamboree for many years. We can count on them to reinforce the sound system we own with additional equipment when needed, as was the case this year.”

Two stages were equipped with KH4, while the main stage used four KH15: two front fills, one drum fill, and the last one reversed towards the backstage to keep the artists updated about what was happening on the stage. The portable stage was really what kept the team busy: From the Hawaiian Party to the after – party in the piazza, the portable stage was deployed with four KH4 and four KO70 subwoofers when needed . The set-up of all four stages only took 1 days work, definitely timing that did not surprise Rabini or his staff, considering that they’ve been using K-array for years “I chose K-array because it was the right fit for this live large scale event. The sound reinforcement system does just one thing: it faithfully reproduces every sonic element, only louder.  If I ever had the opportunity to use another brand for free, I’d still choose K-array hands-down.”
