CARLSBAD, CA — NAMM’s “Believe In Music,” global gathering to unify and support the people who bring music to the world kicks off today, January 18, 2021with FREE registration offered to all. From January 18-22, the virtual event will feature a special “Marketplace” section with hundreds of new product launches and a whirlwind of activities throughout the entire week.
Not to be missed is “Believe In Music’s” impressive lineup of more than 200 professional development and training sessions, seminars and workshops for all sectors of the music products, pro audio and entertainment technology industries, (including five from PLSN/FOH/Stage Directions), and an opening session featuring Garth Brooks.

NONSTOP ACTIVITIES
There’s a lot going on during the action-packed week of planned activities. Here are just a few highlights:
Wednesday, 1/20, starting at 6 AM PT, offers a Global Livesteam, with more than 40 emerging and established artists from 23 countries and six continents coming together for 12 hours of livestream concert performances in a musical celebration.
Also Wednesday 1/20, 4PM PT is the “Believe in Music Product Preview” offering a compilation of videos from innovative companies including Roland, Yamaha, Avid, Gibson, Shure and more, highlighting their new products through demos, videos, and interviews.
Thursday, 1/21 begins with a 9AM PT – Opening Session featuring seven-time CMA Entertainer of the Year Garth Brooks, who will receive NAMM’s “Music for Life” award, which recognizes individuals or organizations for their musical accomplishments.
FRIDAY — AWARDS DAY!
On Friday, 1/22 (9AM PT), seven-time CMA Entertainer of the Year Melissa Etheridge, will receive NAMM’s “Music for Life” award and discuss reinvention in the time of COVID and her new EtheridgeTV.com venture.
At 2PM PT on Friday, the 36th Annual NAMM TEC (Technical Excellence & Creativity) Awards will honor the best individuals, companies and products in sound production and new pro audio technologies (more info at www.tecawards.org).
At 5PM PT on Friday, event production pros will want to be present for a half-hour special streaming event on “20 Years of the PLSN/FOH Parnelli Awards,” featuring an 18-minute highlight reel looking back at all the magical moments that happened at the Parnelli Awards. (If you miss the live presentation, it will later be available on at www.parnelliawards.com.) It will also be a chance to say goodbye to those event industry professionals that were lost in 2020.
The streamed presentation will be a chance to gather virtually, hear a few words from Parnelli Awards founder Terry Lowe and Parnelli Awards chairman of the board Marshall Bissett, plus friends Elizabeth and Michael O’Keefe from TPI. Finally, Terry Lowe will lead everyone in a toast to what will surely be a great year.
