Few festivals command global recognition like Lollapalooza. What began in 1991 as a farewell tour for the band Jane’s Addiction quickly transformed into one of the most influential music festivals in the world. Anchored in Chicago, where it remains a defining summer event, Lollapalooza has expanded across four continents, bringing diverse lineups and unforgettable experiences to audiences in Argentina, Brazil, Germany, France, Sweden, Israel, and India. Its South American journey began in 2011, further cementing its status as a global music powerhouse.
The 2025 Brazilian edition, held from March 28–30 in São Paulo, once again proved why it’s one of South America’s premier music festivals. Headlined by global superstars Olivia Rodrigo, Rüfüs Du Sol, Shawn Mendes, Alanis Morissette, Justin Timberlake, and Tool, Lollapalooza Brasil delivered an electrifying weekend of music across multiple stages. To ensure every performance reached the audience with clarity and impact, São Paulo-based Gabisom Audio Equipment — one of the world’s largest and most respected audio hire companies — deployed an Outline sound system at the Perry’s Stage.
For the second consecutive year, the Perry’s Stage featured Outline’s GTO and GTO C-12 line-array systems, expertly managed by Gabisom’s team. Danilo Costa, one of Gabisom’s sound system engineers, shared insights into this year’s setup:
“It’s the second year of the Outline GTO and GTO C-12 at Lollapalooza’s Perry’s Stage. This time, I’ve got 9 GTOs and 9 GTO C-12s on each hang (LL + L + R + RR), plus an LLL with 12 Superfly boxes. We also had 44 Outline DBS 18-2 subs and 8 Mantas 28 for front fills. The sound was incredible! The subs’ configuration is an end-fire setup with digital arc delay, covering 120 meters in width and 170 meters in depth. As always, our Newtons made managing the complex setup effortless, ensuring precise control throughout.”
He added, “Once again, the GTO proved its unmatched capability, effortlessly delivering every sonic detail with absolute precision. It’s like having a high-end studio monitor on a massive scale — every nuance is there, uncolored and intact, but with the sheer power and headroom needed for a festival of this magnitude. Working with this system is both exciting and reassuring because you know it will perform flawlessly every time.”
The combination of Outline’s audio systems and Gabisom’s expertise ensured flawless coverage across the stage. Newton, Outline’s patented FPGA-based processing platform, made managing the complex setup easy and dependable. Its intuitive control provides consistent performance and peace of mind at any scale. As festivals demand adaptable, high-performance solutions, Newton remains the trusted presence in live sound engineering.
