NASHVILLE — Ted Emmit Mellencamp, 62, died March 4, 2016 at his home in Nashville, surrounded by family. He worked for many years as a tour manager and promotional rep, supported acts including Jon Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Cinderella, Kiss, Tears for Fears, The Scorpions and Kool and the Gang along with tours featuring his older brother, John Mellencamp.

HOUSTON — Spartan Race competitions, sponsored by Reebok, throw all kinds of obstacles that competitors must overcome to achieve victory. But if the races are designed to be physically punishing, that doesn’t include an assault on the ears. Instead, race organizers chose QSC k Series Loudspeakers to provide the inspiration to keep the participants going in the festival area and along the race route. In the festival area, the K12 speakers are set up for the emcee and a DJ playing music and all along the course itself, which range from five to 20 miles in length.

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL — Vocalosity, an a capella vocalist showcase, features 12 touring vocalists chosen for their singing prowess along with local a cappella groups who perform as the opening act in each city. Although this tour can be challenging to mix, technical director and FOH engineer Tony Huerta oversees both the FOH and monitor mixes using an entire Roland REAC system. His setup includes Roland’s M-5000 OHRCA Live Mixing Console, one Roland S-2416 24 x 16 digital snake stage unit, the XI-Dante card, which allows another 64 inputs, and the XI-MADI Card for future integration with Waves SoundGrid.

SAN DIEGO, CA–– The Heights Campus of The Rock Church is located in a former dealership for renewable energy cars with multiple glass surfaces. To solve the problem, the Church and their design/build integrator, Clark, chose a Martin Audio MLA Mini loudspeaker array with CDD speakers for the exceptional control to direct the sound into the audience evenly from front to back without the negative impact of late reflections from the glass walls and hard concrete floor.

SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA – The Independence Bowl has been played every year since 1976 at The Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana.  In anticipation of the 2015 game, stadium owners and YESCO Electronics replaced the old system with two Danley Jericho Horns, a Danley BC-415 subwoofer, and several Danley SH-96 loudspeakers for fill.
