Avid Adds Overseas Jobs, Consolidates U.S. Operations as Cost-Cutting Plan Continues

BURLINGTON, MA — Avid Technology Inc., which had announced a $68 million cost-savings plan on Feb. 29, had indicated that two-thirds of that total would come from “personnel-related” cost-cutting. On May 3, the company noted plans to build a “consolidated administrative support group” at its new office in Boca Raton, FL while staffing up with new positions based in the Philippines, Taiwan and Poland. Close to 250 new jobs will be created through these moves, the company noted. With its earlier announcement on Feb. 29, Avid had indicated a plan to complete its $68 million cost-trimming transformation by mid-2017.
