KNOXVILLE, TN – Audio presented a challenge on the Outcry Tour. The varied roster of top contemporary Christian artists, which included Hillsong Worship, Kari Jobe, Jesus Culture with Martin Smith, Passion, Elevation Worship, Brian Houston and others, ranged from folky singer-songwriters to full-out screaming rock. But the clarity of the spoken word was another consideration in the arena to stadium venues. Sound provider Special Event Services (SES) was ready for the production challenges with its L-Acoustics K1/K2 PA system.

NEW YORK — Saturday Night Live: The Exhibition recently finished a successful run at the Premier on 5th exhibition center on NYC’s Fifth Ave., just a few blocks from where SNL gets staged every week. In addition to the comedy skits and the behind the scenes focus of the exhibition, the 12,500-square-foot exhibition also paid homage to the musical guests, with extensive use of loudspeakers, amplifiers, digital signal processing and acoustical modeling from Bose Professional. AV systems integrator Design Electronics was chosen by museum-experience creator Premier Exhibitions of Atlanta for the project.

TORRANCE, CA – Alex Alvarez is best known as Lenny Kravitz’ guitar tech, but after 25 years, he is in many ways Kravitz’ right-hand man. For tours, he’s the crew chief, responsible for hiring the crew, maintaining the equipment, and more. Off tour, he manages Kravitz’ studios in Paris and the Bahamas. Wherever Kravitz and his band go, you’ll find a Mackie mixer in use.

CANFIELD, OH – The historic Old North Church in Canfield, OH offers worship gatherings supported by music and a blend of traditional and modern expressions of the gospel. When an audio upgrade was called for, clarity of sound for music and speech were the two goals. Church leaders sought out services from Custom Integrated Solutions of Youngstown, OH for the solution with Community Professional’s I Series loudspeakers. They achieved their goal. “This was the first time we could hear in the church,” said one church member.

BETHLEHEM, PA — Music plays a prominent role in the church services at the nondenominational New Covenant Christian Community Church (NC4) in Bethlehem, PA. The church recently upgraded their sound reinforcement system, with Horizon AVL of Blackwood, NJ, contracted to handle the installation. Products were selected from WorxAudio Technologies (www.worxaudio.com), a division of PreSonus Audio Electronics, Inc.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The International Association of Venue Managers’ VenueConnect show is coming to Minneapolis July 23-26, 2016. There, attendees who visit the Wenger/J.R. Clancy booth (#323) will be able to hear about the transformation that active acoustics technology made to Neumann Auditorium at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa (pictured here).

INDIO, CA – Camarillo, CA-based Rat Sound once again deployed an Eastern Acoustics Works Adaptive system in the Gobi Tent at this year’s Coachella Festival in Indio, CA. The 18,000 square foot tent is known for its eclectic mix of alt bands. SaysAdam Labov, FOH engineer for Goldroom, “My overall experience with the Anya system was a very positive one. I felt like I had endless headroom and the speaker response was incredible.”

OMAHA, NE––CCI Solutions of Olympia, WA recently installed a Martin Audio CDD system in the main worship space of the new StoneBridge Millard Campus. The sound system for the worship space needed to be flexible in terms of both spoken word and music reproduction, and the space had its own set of unique challenges.
