L-Acoustics Says Hello to World’s Arenas with Adele

BERLIN – The focus of Adele’s Live 2016 tour is not on dancers or special effects, but her voice. Tickets for the show were in such high demand that seating was arranged in a 270-degree arc. The show also features a B stage in the center of the venue. Audio equipment had to comply with design guidelines for clean sightlines. To match all the challenges, Berlin-based sound provider Black Box Music provided an L-Acoustics K2 system.

LOS ANGELES —Christian Assembly Church in Los Angeles underwent a renovation project, which included a new suite of wireless systems and microphones.  Dirk Bolle, IT/Tech support specialist, was determined to find a reasonably priced and reliable wireless system that would eliminate any unwanted, disruptive noises, which had been an issue with the older equipment. LOUISVILLE, KY The Summerland tour kicked off July 8 at Louisville, KY’s 4th Street Live entertainment and shopping district, with a new RCF HDL50-A line array system reinforcing 1990s music from Everclear and friends. The RCF system included 16 HDL50-A, an active three-way line array cabinet with dual 12” low frequency, four 6” midrange and two 3” high frequency compression drivers; coupled with eight SUB 9007-AS dual 21” active subwoofers. Eight NX12-SMA active 12” monitors covered the stage.

Solotech Provides Yamaha Consoles for Multiple Stages at Montreal Jazz Fest

MONTREAL — Sound system provider Solotech supplied Yamaha Digital Audio Consoles for the 17 stages during the 37th Montreal Jazz Festival (MJF), which ran from June 29 to July 9. Twelve of the stages featuring them at both FOH and monitors. MJF is held at the Place des Festivals in downtown Montreal with close to 50 concerts daily. More music can be found in local bars, boats, and other miscellaneous venues. Concertgoers could travel from event-to-event, as all ‘outdoor’ concerts were free of charge. Performers included Brian Wilson, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Christian McBride, Chick Corea and Joe Jackson, to name a few.

RCF PAVA Installed at Home of Ulster Rugby

BELFAST – The Kingspan Stadium, home of Ulster Rugby, has completed a major upgrade of its stadium in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The construction of three covered stands are designed to match the existing premium stand, with a newly specified RCF PAVA (Public Address and Voice Alarm) distributed sound broadcast system, linked to a fire alarm, to create a communications infrastructure that complies with BS5839 Part 8 standards.
