In Memoriam: John Vitale, 63

MIDDLETON, WI – Pro audio and music industry veteran John Vitale passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in the morning of Feb. 12, 2018. He was 63. A lifelong Midwesterner, Vitale also had a lifelong passion for music, whether he was learning and performing it himself or teaching and optimizing the sound for others. His career in MI and pro audio, for companies including Bag End and Full Compass Systems, spanned three decades.

RCF 2018 Line Array Roadshow Heads to Chicago

CHICAGO – RCF’s Line Array Roadshow will be in Chicago on April 3 at the Copernicus Theater from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. RCF will be demonstrating the newest offerings from the HDL family of line array products along with new subwoofers, monitors and other products. Featured models include the HDL6-A, HDL30-A, HDL50-A, SUB8004-A single 18″ and SUB9006-AS dual 18″ active subwoofers, among other products.

Martin Audio Names Ben Tucker Product Support Engineer

Martin Audio announced the appointment of Ben Tucker to Product Support Engineer. Tucker, who joins Martin Audio’s Product Support Group, has a Distinction in Live Sound Foundation Degree from the University of Plymouth, a BTEC in Music and is an avid musician, enjoying composition, arrangement, recording and performing live. He has worked for Millstone Sound and as a freelancer live sound engineer designing, preparing and deploying audio systems for large scale events as well as carrying out console operation duties at both FOH and monitors for various shows.

Admiral Theatre in Seattle Area Installs Meyer Sound System

BREMERTON, WA – The Admiral Theatre recently upgraded with a Meyer Sound Leopard system. The installed setup includes two arrays, each with 10 Leopard enclosures beneath a single 900-LFC low frequency control element. Four additional 900-LFC elements are ground stacked, two per side, with four UPM-1P loudspeakers deployed for front fill. Morgan Sound of Lynwood, WA supplied and installed the system, with Stephen Weeks serving as sales facilitator and project manager.
