For Spyder Surf Fest, Bell Events flew dual al-4 arrays, each comprised of two al-4SB flying subwoofers with eight AL-4 subcompact elements hanging underneath. VUE hm-112 systems served monitor duty, while VUEDrive V4 Systems Engines provided power and processing for the arrays and monitors. Allen & Heath iLive consoles handled both FOH and monitor mixes.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA – Bell Event Services supplied a VUE al-4 subcompact line array system for Spyder Surf Fest. The annual event brings together action sports brands, surf enthusiasts and the SoCal seaside community. The 2018 event marked the fifth year Bell Event Services supported the event, and the third year they provided a VUE al-4 system. For the main hangs, Bell Events flew dual al-4 arrays, each comprised of two al-4SB flying subwoofers with eight AL-4 subcompact elements hanging underneath. FOH Engineer Philip J. Harvey Uses Waves for Lorde World Tour

BYRON BAY, Australia – FOH engineer Philip J Harvey has been making use of Waves Audio plugins for Lorde’s ongoing Melodrama world tour, including the Waves Nx Virtual Mix Room. Harvey also uses an SSL L500 Plus console and L-Acoustics’ L-ISA system to support Lorde’s shows. Harvey noted that this artist’s “very full and powerful voice” is heard via a DPA d:facto 4018LV handheld microphone, and that the plug-ins help with “attenuating the low-mid range, which can get pretty thick in the mix sometimes.”
