AUSTIN, TX — FOH engineer Brad Madix, who joined the 2013 portion of Rush’s Clockwork Angels tour as it kicked off from the Frank Erwin Center here April 23, may be an old hand with the band — this is his fifth tour with the timeless Canadian rockers. But this time out, there was something new: an onstage string section — six violins and two cellos — directly behind the drum kit. Radial’s newest addition to its line of DI boxes, the PZ-DI, were developed just in time to serve as a solution to the new challenge Madix faced.

Cowboy Fellowship Church Installs Technomad Gear in New Rodeo/Events Arena

JOURDANTON, TX — The Cowboy Fellowship Church, located in this rural Texas community south of San Antonio, has more than a parking team that directs traffic on horseback. It has an adjoining 2,800-seat live event venue on its campus that gets used for anything from musical performances to bull-riding clinics and all-day rodeos. Facilities administrator Buster Burch equipped the arena, which opened in 2012, with a sound system that includes new Technomad gear.

Gibson Amphitheatre to Close in September

LOS ANGELES — The 6,000-plus capacity Gibson Amphitheatre, which opened as an outdoor venue within Universal City in 1972 before being enclosed in 1982, is set to close as its lease expires in September. Universal Studios is undergoing a major remodeling and will use the site for a Harry Potter-themed ride, according to reports.

Lift Distribution took on the KV2 brand in September 2011 and grew the profile of the brand substantially through 2012 by making systems available for major events and reconnecting with KV2 owners across the US and Canada. Their efforts have resulted in a steady stream of mobile and installed system sales throughout the region.
