The Sennheiser Sound Academy RF Wireless Seminar teaches how to plan for trouble-free operation in the toughest environments. MONTREAL – At the 21st International Congress on Acoustics (ICA) in Montreal, Meyer Sound led three technical paper presentations focusing on the latest advances and applications in active acoustics, a field that has garnered widespread interest among multipurpose venues and the acoustics community.

NEW YORK, NY – Shadowbox Design Management of Hicksville, NY designed and installed a new system at NYC-based St. John’s University’s welcome center. The installation included a standalone Symetrix SymNet Solus 16 open-architecture DSP at the center for the university, where some 20,000 students are enrolled.

SHERIDAN, WY — Gary Hartung, engineer and production manager for The Doobie Brothers, has been using a pair of VUE i-8a powered two-way systems as monitors speakers for his mixing position at FOH, along a pair of i-6a powered systems for use when space is more limited.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Seeking to overcome acoustic challenges for Nevins Hall, a space within downtown Framingham’s Memorial Hall here, Adtech Systems used Bose Professional Systems Division’s RoomMatch loudspeakers and PowerMatch amplifiers. The setup includes two Bose RoomMatch arrays, each consisting of (in ascending order) two RM12020’s, one RM9020, one RM7010 and one RM5505 loudspeaker, with an RMS215 subwoofer at the top of the array.

At services, the church’s message is delivered on a scale that rivals major rock concerts, with a sanctuary that’s bigger than many top music venues. The services also rely upon an array of audio gear from Harman.

RALEIGH-DURHAM/CHAPEL HILL, NC — Ryan Pickett, FOH and live performance archive recording engineer for the band My Morning Jacket, is currently using sE Electronics gear to support the band’s summer AmericanaramA Festival of Music tour with Bob Dylan and other guest artists. That gear includes Voodoo VR1 passive ribbon microphones and sE Instrument Reflexion Filter 2’s (IRF2’s).

LAS VEGAS, NV––3G Productions, Inc. recently provided audio for the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) festivals in New York, Chicago and Las Vegas. Their PA systems included a Martin Audio Multi-cellular Loudspeaker Array (MLA) to provide the power and coverage they needed inside the venue while controlling noise spillage to surrounding residential areas.
