SAN DIEGO – As die-hard comic fans flooded the San Diego Convention Center, Comic-Con 2013 hosted more than 100,000 visitors as well as hundreds of celebrity guests discussing their latest movie roles and ideas surrounding the comic universe. During numerous panels, stars such as Peter Dinklage, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Jada Pinkett Smith, Tom Cruise and Harrison Ford addressed questions from the audience through Harman’s AKG D5 microphones.

PSS Services Supports Louisiana Events with Harman Gear

BATON ROUGE, LA – Over a four-day span, Premier Production & Sound (PSS) Services worked with more than 127 bands in Baton Rouge and New Orleans at various music festivals and events, including the Baton Rouge Blues Festival, LSU’s “Groovin’ on the Grounds” and the French Quarter Festival in New Orleans. For the live sound reinforcement of each event, PSS provided Harman’s Crown amplifiers, JBL loudspeakers and Soundcraft mixing consoles.

Entec Supplies Sound for Blur Summer Shows

WEST LONDON, U.K. — Entec, based here, continued its 20 year working relationship with British band Blur, supplying sound equipment for the band’s 30-plus performances in 2013. The Varsity Theater in Minneapolis Adds E-V Gear

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The Varsity Theatre, which is celebrating a 100-year history as a venue for live entertainment here, recently upgraded and expanded with a new in-house sound system from Electro-Voice. The main workhorse of the system is the Electro-Voice XLD281 dual 8-inch line array element, a 3-way system in a  compact enclosure. The XLD281s are hung in two lines of six each. The system also includes a half-dozen QRx 218S compact dual 18-inch subwoofers for low-end support.

Stanco Productions Covers Fair St. Louis with Martin Audio Gear

ST. LOUIS, MO — Fair St. Louis, “America’s Biggest Birthday Party,” was celebrated under the city’s iconic Arch for the last time before a two-year renovation, with Stanco Productions providing audio, video and lighting for the fourth year in a row. To ensure superior audio coverage throughout the fairgrounds for this year’s featured acts, including Trace Adkins, Brett Michaels and Counting Crows, Stanco chose a Martin Audio rig consisting of 16 W8LC per side with 12 W8LM and 4 W8LMD downfill cabinets a side for outfill. Crown amplification and AVID Venue Profile consoles were also used for FOH and Monitors.
