Daktronics Revitalizes Lane Stadium Sound System with Harman Gear

BLACKSBURG, VA – Systems integrator Daktronics recently upgraded Virginia Tech University’s Lane Stadium with new Harman’s JBL VLA Series loudspeakers along with BSS and Soundcraft gear. The stadium seats 66,233 and is home to the Virginia Tech Hokies football team. The goal of this renovation was to ensure a high output system and even coverage from seat to seat.

APS Provides dBTechnologies for T.J. Martell Foundation in NYC

NEW YORK – For the 14th annual T.J. Martell Foundation Family Day, held recently in Roseland Ballroom, Audio Production Services (APS) provided dBTechnologies DVA line arrays for a roster of artists including Jason Mraz, Ed Wheeran, Austin Mahone and Emblem 3. APS owner Simon Nathan hung L-R DVA line arrays  of two T12 and three T4 enclosures per side.  Four T4 boxes provided front fill; two S-30 subwoofers and two DM12 monitors handled the low end.

Dubai Nightclub Installs Turbosound TCX Speakers

DUBAI, UAE — Joe Chidiac of Pulse Middle East designed a system for the Iris Club near Ghantoot Marina here that includes Turbosound TCX loudspeakers. The system includes 28 TCX-15 loudspeakers and 16 TCX-15B subwoofers along four four Milan M15 portable loudspeakers that can move around and be deployed as needed. The audio system is powered by 10 RACKDP-50 four-channel digital amplifiers with built-in DSP.

QSC Names John White VP, R&D

COSTA MESA, CA – QSC Audio Products, LLC named John White vice president, Research and Development. White has extensive experience at companies ranging from Avid, Dolby and Disney to Clair Brothers and Maryland Sound International. He has also toured with artists including Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Luther Vandross, Jerry Garcia and Yes, among others. He most recently served as vice president of engineering at THX. In his new role at QSC, White will be providing technical and managerial leadership within the R&D department, reporting to QSC COO Jatan Shah.
