NILES, IL – Shure Inc. promoted William Chan to managing director of the company's Asia/Pacific Business Unit. Chan joined Shure Asia as regional marketing director in 2008 and was promoted to deputy managing director in 2011.

NEW YORK – Jim Kaiser, president of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) has announced that Roger Furness, AES executive director since 1994, will step down from his position at the end of 2011. An AES member since 1975, Furness has served as Section Chair, Vice President AES Europe and as AES President. To ensure continuity in all aspects of the AES organization, the Executive Committee has asked him to remain as Executive Director Emeritus throughout 2012.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA – Guitar Center Professional (GC Pro) named Rick Plushner vice president. Plushner joined the company in September 2005 as general manager of GC Pro. He was promoted to director of sales in 2006, then director of the division in 2008.

KNOXVILLE, TN – Waves Audio named Greg Price product specialist. Since getting his start at California's The Record Plant almost four decades ago, Price has served as live sound engineer for acts including Weezer, Foo Fighters, Van Halen, the Cheetah Girls/Hannah Montana, Audioslave, Black Sabbath, Glee's "The TV Show Tour," Rage Against the Machine, Ted Nugent, Kiss, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, ZZ Top, Them Crooked Vultures and many others.

BUENA PARK, CA – Hosa Technology named Kyle Lassegard marketing coordinator. Lassegard has served as technical support representative for the company since Sept. 2010 and has a background in studio recording, information technology, sales and marketing communications. He is based at Hosa headquarters.

GREENSBORO, NC – WorxAudio Technologies named Chris Rachal sales administration and support manager, a new position. Rachal's background includes previous positions in retail sales, as on-air talent for the broadcast market, and as a recording engineer, sound editor/composer, mobile DJ and AV technician. He will be based at WorxAudio's corporate headquarters in Greensboro.

BARCELONA – The d&b audiotechnik location in Barcelona, which handles distribution of the company's products in Spain, is moving to a new location, starting July 1. The new facilities were chosen to support an expansion of the company's educational and training programs.
